Travel & Study in Cadiz, Spain wih UML! Earn 6 - 12 credits in Intensive Spanish Language & Culture level 1 through 4 in Cadiz, Spain with UMass Lowell. Session I: June 28-July 18, 2014, Spanish 1 & 2 Session II: July 19-August 8, 2014, Spanish 3 & 4 Students will reside and study in Cadiz for 3 weeks - 6 weeks, depending upon session selection. Through living with a local family (homestay), attending class, and taking advantage of the University of Cadiz resources such as tutoring, students can expect to increase their language skills substantially. To enhance the experience, students will have the opportunity to visit Jerez de la Frontera where they will enjoy a local winery as well as visit the Jerez Horse show by the Foundation Royal Andalusian Schoool of Equestrian Art. Students will also attend a Flamenco Seminar, receive an on-site 2 hour walking tour of the city and welcome reception at local restaurant for an introduction to traditional foods & drinks to learn the loal cultural eating and drinking norms. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in optional excursions such as a one night Flamenco show at the tavern La Cava as well as a day trip to Sevilla.
